Unfortunately, I got the wrong product. I ordered a less functional device than I wanted. WILLHI WH7016C - this thermostat can only work in one direction - either cooling (when the threshold is exceeded, it turns on the cooler) or heating (when it falls below the threshold, it turns on the heating). For some tasks this is enough. An incubator, for example. But aquarists will probably prefer a different device. More precisely.


First I ordered, and then I found it. But, again, the prices. In our outback, finding something resembling a thermostat is simply unrealistic. There are some electromechanical ones like irons, there are some for refrigerators as a spare part, there are Chinese household ones for heated floors, there are for electric kettles. But in reality, everything is tailored for a specific application. And there is simply no range around room temperature. You can’t put a thermostat from a kettle on an incubator. :)

In principle, everything is quite correct. Industrial design, quite neat. Install on the front panel of anything with a thickness of at least 5 mm. Otherwise, you will have to pile up gaskets or invent your own fasteners. The video shows that it was not possible to press the tip of a thin screwdriver.


The power part is on the horizontal part of the board, the microcontroller is on the vertical part, behind the back of the indicator. What’s funny is that the Chinese even marked the chip as WH7016C. They hid the brand of the microcontroller and averted their eyes with strange markings.

Settings are made according to the manual from the muzzle. Four buttons, an indicator with numbers and two LEDs. Seems simple enough.
There are two modes for thermoinertial applications - setting the temperature hysteresis and setting the time delay for turning on the relay. But here you need to think. Because there is no longer an immediate reaction to installations. In general, using hysteresis, this thing can maintain temperature with a minimum accuracy of ±2 degrees. The accuracy is not enough for an aquarium, KMK. The time delay can be set to zero. If everything is set rigidly, then the relay makes a “clack” immediately. The relay activation indication is displayed on the upper left LED on the device’s face. The bottom LED seems to only serve as a setup mode indicator.
